Everything you send travels in packets, and a VPN adds a small wrapper to each one. Some networks, often mobile networks and some home routers, can't carry the largest packets once they're wrapped and silently drop them. Small things like messages get through; big pages, photos and videos get stuck.
What PryVPN does
PryVPN uses a smaller packet size where this is common, such as on mobile data. When it notices the problem on another network, it switches to the smaller size and remembers it for that network. You may see a short note that it adjusted to this network.
If it keeps happening
- Open Settings › Advanced › MTU and choose 1280.
- Disconnect and connect again.
- If sites still don't load, send us a report.
A smaller packet size changes speed very little. Set MTU back to Automatic when you no longer need it.
