Only one VPN at a time
When another app starts a VPN, Android stops PryVPN. That includes ad blockers and firewalls that work as a VPN, your work VPN, and Secure Wi-Fi on Samsung phones. PryVPN then shows that another app took over and doesn't fight back, so the two apps don't keep taking the connection from each other.
- Turn off the other app's VPN, or Secure Wi-Fi.
- Tap Use PryVPN again, or connect from Home.
If Always-on VPN is set to another app, PryVPN can't start. Change it in Android's VPN settings.
Work profile, Secure Folder, dual apps and private space
Android gives each profile its own VPN. Apps in a work profile, Samsung's Secure Folder, dual (cloned) apps and Android's private space don't go through the PryVPN in your main profile. To protect them, install PryVPN inside that profile too, if it allows it.
Devices where VPNs aren't allowed
Work and school phones can be set to forbid VPNs, and a few TVs and custom versions of Android have no VPN permission screen. Android then doesn't let PryVPN start, and only the device's administrator can change that.
