PryVPN doesn't connect on mobile data

Some mobile networks block VPN traffic, use IPv6 only or limit apps in the background. Try these steps in order.

  1. Check that mobile data works without PryVPN: tap Disconnect and open a website.
  2. Try Stealth. Some operators block or slow down UDP, which WireGuard uses. Stealth uses the same port as websites.
  3. Make sure Android isn't limiting PryVPN. In Android's app settings for PryVPN (Apps › PryVPN › Mobile data; the name varies by phone), allow background data, and unrestricted data if Data saver is on.
  4. Many operators give phones only an IPv6 address. PryVPN handles that on its own; if it still fails, read IPv6-only networks.
  5. When roaming, check that data roaming is on and that your plan includes data in that country.

Some mobile plans, often cheap or prepaid ones, block VPNs completely. If nothing works, ask your operator whether your plan allows VPNs.

To protect mobile data automatically, turn on On mobile data in Settings › Auto-connect and Wi-Fi.
