Nothing connects after an Android 16 update

After some Android 16 updates with Always-on VPN on, PryVPN can't get out. It tries to fix this by itself; if it can't, a restart does.

Android 16 has a known issue: after an update, with Always-on VPN on, Android can keep blocking PryVPN's own connection even though your network works. Nothing loads, and PryVPN tells you that Android is blocking it.

What PryVPN does by itself

It restarts its VPN service up to three times, waiting a little longer each time. Usually that's enough and you don't notice anything.

If it still doesn't connect

  1. Open Android's VPN settings (Settings › Kill Switch › Open VPN settings).
  2. Tap the gear next to PryVPN and turn Always-on VPN off and on again.
  3. If it still fails, restart your phone.

It's a problem in Android, not in your network or your account. Your settings are kept.
