Agreeing to these terms
By using the PryVPN app or website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use PryVPN.
The service
PryVPN is a VPN service for Android, currently in beta and free of charge. Beta software may change, have bugs or be interrupted. We'll tell you before we introduce any paid options, and the free version will remain.
Your account
Your account is identified by an account number. Keep it safe: anyone who has it can use your account, and we can't recover it for you unless you've added a recovery email.
Acceptable use
Everyone using a PryVPN server shares its IP addresses. When one person abuses them, the addresses end up on blocklists and everyone else gets captchas and blocked sites. To keep PryVPN useful for everyone, you agree not to use it to:
- Send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, by email or any other channel.
- Scan networks or probe systems for weaknesses without the owner's permission.
- Brute-force logins or try stolen credentials against any service.
- Flood or disrupt other networks or services (denial of service), including amplification attacks.
- Spread malware, run or control botnets, or take part in phishing or fraud.
- Share illegal content, including any content that sexually exploits minors.
- Infringe other people's rights, including intellectual property.
- Resell or share access at scale: sell PryVPN access, run a service on top of it, share one account among many people, or create accounts automatically.
- Attack, overload or scrape PryVPN's own servers and apps, or try to get around the limits described below.
- Break the law where you are, or the rules of the networks you use.
Fair use
PryVPN has no data caps, and each server shares its bandwidth fairly between the people using it at that moment. Use it as one person with their own devices: up to five devices of one account can be connected at the same time.
What happens automatically
Our servers enforce these rules on their own, by looking at how connections behave, never at what they contain or where they go:
- Ports mostly used for abuse, such as outgoing email (TCP 25) and Windows file sharing, are blocked.
- Each device has a limit on how many connections it can open per second and keep open at once.
- A connection that looks like a scan, brute force or flood is slowed down for 2 minutes. If it continues, it is restricted to web browsing for 30 minutes. Both expire on their own and leave no record.
- Known malware and phishing domains are always blocked by our DNS.
- Creating an account takes a small amount of work from your device, and more during waves of automated sign-ups.
- Accounts connected from an unusual number of networks, a sign of large-scale sharing, get stricter connection limits.
Beyond that, we may suspend an account that breaks these rules, for example when an abuse report gives us its account number, and we may restrict a server that is being abused. Because we don't log activity, we act on reports and on these technical signals, never on browsing history. How we handle reports is explained on our abuse page.
Your responsibilities
VPN use is restricted in some countries, and organizations and online services may set their own rules. You're responsible for using PryVPN in line with the laws and agreements that apply to you.
Availability
We work to keep PryVPN running, but we can't promise it will always be available, or that it will work in every country or on every network.
What PryVPN does and doesn't do
PryVPN improves your privacy on the networks you use. It doesn't make you anonymous, and it can't protect you from everything, such as sites you sign into, malware on your device or phishing. During the beta, PryVPN is provided "as is", to the extent the law allows.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of PryVPN. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes and ending the service
We may update these terms and will show the date at the top. You can stop using PryVPN and delete your account at any time from the app.
