To encrypt your traffic, PryVPN has to route it through a VPN connection. Android asks you once, with a Connection request saying the app will be able to “monitor network traffic”. Android shows that same wording for every VPN app.
What PryVPN does with it: it encrypts your traffic and sends it to a PryVPN server. It doesn't record the sites you visit, your DNS queries or your traffic. See Privacy and no-logs, in plain words.
Other permissions, only when needed
- Notifications (optional, Android 13 and later): the status notification with a Disconnect button.
- Location: only if you add a trusted Wi-Fi network, because Android only shares Wi-Fi names with apps that have it. PryVPN never reads your location.
- Camera: only when you tap Scan QR to import a server profile.
“VPN permission needed”
Only one VPN app can be active at a time. If you start another VPN app, or Android removes the permission, PryVPN shows VPN permission needed. Tap Grant permission, or turn off the other VPN app first.
