With PryVPN connected, all your traffic goes through the tunnel, including traffic meant for devices in the same room. That's why a printer, a Chromecast or a NAS can stop showing up.
Turn on Settings › Allow local network. Your phone then talks to devices on your local network directly, while everything going to the internet stays in the tunnel. Our DNS keeps working.
Your local network
Settings › Your local network shows your router, this device and the devices PryVPN finds on the network, with their IP addresses.
- It covers the network you're actually on, including its IPv6 addresses, so casting and printing can find their devices.
- Names like printer.local or your router's name can't be looked up while a VPN is on, because of how Android works. Use the IP address shown on that screen instead.
- Keep it off on public Wi-Fi: there, the local network is shared with strangers.
